Ringing Times

The bells are normally rung at the following times

Wednesday Practice Night 19:30 – 21:30
Sunday Sung Eucharist 09:30 – 10:30

 

The bells are also rung at other times for additional services, weddings, civic occassion and by visiting teams of bell ringers. A full list of ringing times is shown in  our diary below.

Access  for practice night is via the north transept door which is normally open until 19:45. If you arrive late and the north transept door is locked, use the ringing room doorbell to let us know you have arrived. Please use the following instructions for finding/using the bell

The doorbell is located behind the letter box in the door towards the west end of the north aisle

Put your hand through the letter box and reach around to the right. Locate the bell and push the button. Please use between touches and only on practice nights. The bell can be heard in the cathedral!

Make your way to the north transept door and someone will come down and let you in. The ringing room mobile phone number is also displayed by the north transept door and is available as a backup
