Information for Visiting Ringers.
Access to the cathedral is normally via the west door. However for practice nights acccess is via the north transept.
The Victoria Grove car park is close to the Cathdral and is situated to the east of the market square behind the bus station and Sainsbury’s. Long stay car parking is only available on the lower levels. A short path near the front entrance of Sainsbury’s links the car park to the west front of the Cathedral. Free on road parking is also available to the south and east of the Cathedral.
We welcome visiting ringers to both our practice nights and sunday service ringing. We would prefer you to make contact with us prior to your visit via the Contact Us page, but this is by no means essential.
Please use the Contact Us page to arrange your visit. As a general rule of thumb the bells are normally available to visiting bands prior to cathedral services and on saturday mornings. Other times are available depending on other users of the cathedral and we will do our best to accomodate specific times requested. However we do ask for some flexibilty which will make it easier to statisfy your request. The bells will normally be down prior to your visit and will normally need to be left down.
